چکیده
Submergence tolerance has long been regarded as an important breeding objective for rain-fed lowland and deep water rice area. Despite this recognition, there limited success in developing with improved submergence Africa. The present research was aimed at assessing performance of crosses under stressed non-stressed conditions Nigeria. Six generations the were evaluated optimum submerged a complete randomized block design three replications. screening performed controlled that allowed flooding depth 1.0 meter period 14 days. results revealed significant difference among two evaluated. observed survival rate (%) Cross I ranged between 0.00% - 100% while II, it 95.24%. Phenotypic Coefficients Variation (PCV) Genotypic Coefficient (GCV) 100 grain weight moderate to high conditions. Low PCV GCV coefficients variation width length both crosses. High heritability (0.96% respectively) genetic advance percentage mean recorded yield variability however, advancement segregating coupled adequate selection criteria could lead identification superior stable genotypes farmers’ use.

Comparative Transcriptional Profiling of Primed and Non-primed Rice Seedlings under Submergence Stress
Submergence stress is a limiting factor for direct-seeded rice systems in rainfed lowlands and flood-prone areas of South and Southeast Asia. The present study demonstrated that submergence stress severely hampered the germination and seedling growth of rice, however, seed priming alleviated the detrimental effects of submergence stress. To elucidate the molecular basis of seed priming-induced ...

Breeders often use generation means analysis to obtain information about inheritance, gene action, and to determine effective breeding methods to improve important agronomic traits, especially under drought stress conditions. To investigate the genetic parameters of agronomic and morphological traits in durum wheat, a field experiment was carried out using F1, F2, BC1 and BC2 generations obtain...

Drought is the most important factor limiting rice productivity in the rainfed areas of Asia. In this study, 48 pyramiding lines (PLs) and their recurrent parent, IR64, were evaluated over two years for their yield performances and related traits under severe drought stress at the reproductive stage (RS), the vegetative stage (VS) and irrigated control in order to understand the relationship be...
